Community Meet Up 5.0 Wrap Up

We just held another Community Meetup, and smoothly completed the fifth one.

Starting in November of last year, we began organizing a series of community-themed events. The park is where we all discovered calisthenics—and even got to know each other. We want everyone to have fun, make friends through exercise, and get to know this sport as friends.

We hope everyone leaves with wonderful memories.

This time, we’ve chosen Repulse Bay instead of Sheung Wan. We hope this better fits the “Summer Special” theme—First, we can fully take advantage of everything the location has to offer, and second, to showcase everyone’s unique qualities. (Cali Lovers, Running Men, The Coast) . Especially, move beyond the traditional, pure form of calisthenics.

We led three sessions, starting with a Muscle-Up workshop. We always pay close attention to the needs of targeted audience for our content, so this time we split the session into two stations (Basics and Skills), and we’ll make the most of our time so everyone can switch between stations and try both, that way, no one will miss out on anything.

This was followed by optional activities: (1) Go: Running with Chris or (2) Stay: Reps & Sets with Jose.

Finally, of course, it was free time: beach time! We sat down together for pizza, drinks, and a chat about life.

My thoughts:

Park Meet Ups are always wonderful. Ever since I was a child, I’ve known that parks are equal to happiness. I’d always run downstairs from home full of excitement, and this place has always been where I could burn off all my energy, make full use of my whole body, and connect with others.

That hasn’t changed, and I never imagined that my current career would actually begin in a park. The great friends I’ve met along the way were all people I got to know through training, and we’ve even become a team.

The diverse faces I met at this meetup also reminded me why we need a community. What we’ve held onto and loved all these years—the people we’ve ultimately connected with, is precisely the beauty we’ve always been searching for.

We’re thrilled and can’t wait to host another Meet Up! Round 2!!!
