Coffee x Calisthenics: Daily Grind

I used to be an office worker with a busy schedule and high pressure. In a fast-paced city like Hong Kong, finding a quiet space to catch your breath is tough.

Since both Yan and I love coffee, we started exploring different cafes during our time off. It was a chance to find peace, read, write, and seek inspiration. Visiting cafes became our routine. I still remember sitting in a random cafe in Vietnam, losing track of time from noon until sunset.

In coffee, grind means breaking down beans. In English, the daily grind means our day-to-day life and training. These two worlds share the exact same core: PATIENCE.

A good coffee takes patience. From bean selection to grind size and brew time, nothing can be rushed. Calisthenics is no different. Building strength and skills offers no shortcuts, only daily, repetitive work.

Whether enjoying the aroma of coffee or grinding out every set on the bar, I embrace the process.Grinding coffee takes time, and building strength takes time.

When we slow down and give the process patience, the daily grind stops being a struggle and becomes nourishment. That is why I bring coffee and calisthenics together: grinding patience in stillness and grinding strength through training.
